Mahesh Bhatt faces ire of Pakistani high commission

Bollywood film maker Mahesh Bhatt is soon going to face the ire of Pakistani high competitions, as his controversy with Pakistani actress Meera has deteriorated. According to the Pakistani media channel Geo network, Meera has accused Mahesh Bhatt for being over possessive and for dumping her acting career in doldrums.

According to sources, actress Meera alleged that Mahesh Bhatt sometimes was behaving strange like anything. She disclosed that, Mahesh used to abuse her, when she said that she is going to meet directors like Mani ratnam and subash ghai. She added that, she received a call from subash ghai and when she was planning to meet him, Mahesh came to her house and slapped her for expressing that she was trying out different directors, for her better future.,

Meera also added that, he was treating her like his daughter sometimes and in nights, she used to say some astonishing words like “ you are like my life partner” which astonished her.

Coding all these statements Meera has approached the Pakistani high commission, which has assured her that they will do justice to her in this regard. However, Mahesh Bhatt has reacted to this news and said that, he was ready to face any commission and Meera needs a mental psychiatric help as she was out of her mind.

Salman khan doesn t want to wear his underwear on his pants

Bollywood star Salman khan has cleared the air that, he doesn’t want to wear his underwear on his pant and so will not do a superhero role in his coming projects. According to sources, Salman Khan cleared this rumor, which was under circulation and it said that, sallu bhai may follow the foot steps of SRK and may do a super hero film with Yash Raj banner.

Salman Khan also released his READY film audio release at the filmistan studios. On the occasion, he honored the persons connected and retired with the studios. READY is a film produced by Bhushan Kumar and is made under T series banner. Asin stars as a female lead in the movie and zarine khan will be seen in a cameo role. The album contains songs like Character Dheela, Dhinka Chika, Humko Pyaar Hua and Meri Ada. The album also contains the remix versions of all four songs.

‘Dum Maaro Dum’ is said to be crawling to a position of attaining a silent hit tag at the box office. The movie has gathered Rs 29.8 crores at the box office and is said to be going on strong, till the next month of big releases arrive.

Dum Maaro Dum is said to be the 3rd biggest opening film in bollywood 2011. Earlier films like Yamla Pagla Deewana and Thank You were supposed to be leading the pack. The eastern season worked in favor of ‘ Dum Maar Dum’ and is said to have grossed almost Rs 6 crores from the world openings.

The Indian collections were close to Rs 22.65 crores and so the movie is now in the safe zone. Preity Zinta becomes gangster for Jai Ramji

Bollywood actress Preity zinta is all set to become a gangster soon. But this will be a character role; she is going to play in the movie titled as ‘Jai Ramji’. The movie will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, of ‘Haasil’(2003) fame and will be shot extensively in Mumbai and northern eastern India, which includes Uttar Pradesh. .

JOKER fantasy driven forest set to cost Rs 3 crores

Bollywood film JOKER which features Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas talpade, and minissha lamba in lead, is soon going to get a Rs 3 crores forest set. The forest set was ordered by the director shirish kunder and so art director Samir chanda is creating a set which will be similar to that of Alice in wonderland.

The forest set, is said to be taking away 10% cost of the whole film. But still director sirish kunder feels that some of the vital scenes in the movie need huge space to be screened and so this is said to have made him demand a huge forest set as it was not possible in an original forest to shoot the required stuff.

Hope, the invested money makes some sense for the film, for the film maker and also to the audiences.

Bollywood’s young heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has surprised the media by saying that, he never dates actress Katrina Kaif and it was the mistake of media, to consider the two as love birds. Salman khan and SRK avoid each other at Filmistan

Bollywood actor’s Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are at loggerheads from the day, they had a fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. In the year 2008, the fight took place and from then on the aftermath affects of the fight saga are taking place.

Lifetime, Hallmark Viewers Drop as Women Tune into 'Snooki,' 'Pawn Stars'

NEW YORK - Some women seem to be rather watching MTV's Snooki or Bravo's Bethenny Ever After in primetime these days than more traditional female-focused or -leaning cable networks, such as Lifetime and Hallmark Channel, according to the New York Post.

A&E Television's Lifetime saw primetime ratings drop 17% among women 18-49 in the first quarter compared with the same period last year, it said, citing Nielsen data. Hallmark Channel saw the same 17% decline among women in first-quarter ratings, according to the Post.

Meanwhile, Lifetime sibling History Channel, driven by reality show Pawn Stars, recorded a 31% increase in the key female demographic, the paper said.

MTV was up 67 percent in this regard for the first quarter thanks to Jersey Shore, while Bravo, driven by the Real Housewives franchise, saw a 37% gain, and even ESPN was up 35%, according to the Post.

It also mentioned Discovery Communications' Investigation Discovery as seeing a rise in female viewers thanks to such shows as Who the Bleep Did I Marry?

Robert Seidman, an analyst at the TVbytheNumbers blog, told the Post: "Women viewers just aren't tuning to the cable homes of daytime stars Oprah and Martha in nearly the numbers that they're tuning into Snooki, Bethenny, NeNe and the Pawn Stars."

How much networks attract women viewers affects not only their ratings, but also their advertising revenue. Decisions on how to reach women are likely to also play a role in the annual upfront advertising market this spring.

"Advertisers are coming to us because we have incredible delivery of women," Investigation Discovery president Henry Schleiff told the Post. Women are a popular target demo for marketers because of their role in their household, said Brad Adgate, Horizon Media's senior vp, research. "They're the chief purchasing officers, so they're a great target for advertisers, and that's why so many networks are gunning for them,"

Justin Bieber's Meeting With Israeli PM Called Off

Netanyahu's office suggests that Bieber didn't want to meet with children who had recently come under siege from rocket fire, which the singer's rep denies.

Justin Bieber won't be meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of his Thursday concert in Tel Aviv after all.

Netanyahu's spokesperson tells the New York Times that Bieber's camp approached his office to set up a meeting, and that the prime minister was "open to that." But after the PM's office suggested including kids from Southern Israel who have been under rocket fire from Gaza, Bieber's representatives backed away from the meeting, the office implied, according to the Times.

A member of Bieber's camp told the Times that discussions were halted because of logistical, not personal reasons, chalking it up to miscommunications.

Camps for both said the meeting had never been finalized.

Said a rep for Bieber: "Justin welcomes the chance to meet with kids facing difficult circumstances, regardless of their background, and in fact, he had already invited children from the Sderot area," which is near the Gaza border.

Bieber has been Tweeting about his annoyance at being pulled into the diplomatic snafu.

Of the paparazzi, he Twittered: “They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous.”

Bollywood star Salman Khan, who is sometimes referred as a bad boy of b- town is back in news. The actor is said to be in the news for wrong reason and that too for his “Dadagiri”. Deol brothers to debut on Zee TV with Jaanbaaz

Bollywood actors Sunny deol and Bobby deol are soon going to make their television debut with the realty based stunt show ‘ Jaanbaaz”. The first episodes of the reality show will only feature Sunny deol, playing the Judge role but the later episodes, probably after 13 episodes, young brother Bobby deol will join the judging panel of the reality show, which will be aired on Zee TV.

Earlier, there were reports that, Sunny deol was supposed to host the show on single head basis. But now, since Sunny has no big market among the TV viewers, his role has been tied up with Bobby deol as well.

“ Jaanbaaz” will have stunt men performing certain stunts which will be breath taking. Allan Amin, ho judged MTV’s reality show ‘Stuntmania’ will also share the judging table with sunny deol.

“So one day I go out to dinner and I have makeup over it and they go, ‘Eva removed the tattoo!!!’ and then the next day I have it, and they go, ‘No, she didn’t,’” Eva laughed. “And then the next day I have it covered again. It’s funny – I don’t have regrets, even with my tattoos.”

“But this is a cautionary tale not to get a tattoo, especially on the day you’re getting married!’ Joy said, with a skeptical smile.

“No! I like it… I’ll just put the divorce date and it’ll be like a gravestone!” Eva joked.

As for her current love life, the beautiful brunette clammed up when asked if the rumors she’s dating Eduardo Cruz – brother of actress Penelope Cruz – are true.

“That’s what everybody keeps saying,” Eva smiled, before avoiding answering the question by saying, “The love of my life right now is my cookbook! Cooking.”

Joy, a co-host for ABC’s hit daytime talker, “The View,” reminisced about her fiery disagreements with previous co-hosts, but Eva had nothing but rave reviews for her “Desperate Housewives” co-stars.

“We’ve been really lucky with our guys – our husbands. All of us have amazing co-star husbands,” Eva gushed. “And you know, I’m really close with Felicity [Huffman] and Marcia [Cross]. We live near each other and we just kind of see each other a lot more and they’ve been amazingly supportive through this whole thing that I’ve been through so, we are friends outside of the show.

“I was really good friends with Nicolette Sheridan before she left,” Eva added.

Aamir, SRK to add star power at Wankhede Stadium

Mumbai, April 1 : One would have thought Bollywood stars would come out in full force at the Wankhede Stadium Saturday, but actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan seem to be the only top stars who will be cheering the Men in Blue.

Shooting schedules will keep big names like Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu away from the field where India and Sri Lanka will play the World Cup final. Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar are planning to watch the game on TV at home.

Aamir, who attended the exciting semifinal at Mohali with his wife Kiran Rao, has requested his director Reema Kagti to give him a weekly off from the shooting Saturday, instead of on April 4.

"Aamir plans to wear the same clothes that he wore for the semi-finals as he is superstitious about these things while watching cricket," Aamir's publicist told IANS.

Shah Rukh, a cricket enthusiast and the owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), chose to stay at home for the semifinal, and watched it with a host of other Bollywood celebrities. But missing the match in Mumbai was out of question, and he will head to the stadium with his children - Aryan, 14, and Suhana, 11.

Soon after India's victory over Pakistan in the semifinal at Mohali, Khan told reporters: "We will win the final also. I have bought an extra T-Shirt for that... so I have to go there and watch the finals Inshallah! The kids want to go and see."

Actress Lara Dutta will add her share of glamour too at the stadium even if her husband, ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi, will be busy playing in the finals of Miami Masters tennis tournament in Florida, US.

"Bumper Bonanza Saturday!! Husband in the Miami Open Finals!:-) , will be cheering our Boys in Blue at the stadium!! Praying 4 a double win!!," Lara posted on her Twitter page.

As for Salman, he says he is not a cricket freak, but might end up at the stadium to enjoy the frenzy at the World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka.

"I plan to watch the final from home. But I might also land up at the Wankhede Stadium if I am in the mood," he said.

Abhishek, who had said he doesn't watch the match as he is superstitious about it, plans to catch the action on television.

"It will be good watching the match from my home rather than the stadium. I will be more comfortable," said Abhishek.

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar too would follow suit.

"It will be a good idea to watch the match from the comfort of my home. I will surely have a few friends come over and we will enjoy together,"

YRF launches Boney Kapoor's son Arjun with 'Virus Diwan'

Mumbai, April 1 - Yash Raj Films, one of the leading studios in Bollywood, has launched Y-Films to give opporutnity to freshers and one of the new talents they are introducing is Boney Kapoor's son Arjun with "Virus Diwan".

"I met Shanu Sharma, the casting director. She found me and asked me to give audition. I came and qualified and that's how I became 'Virus Diwan'," Arjun said at the launch of Y-Films Thursday.

Arjun says it was none other than Salman Khan who discovered his acting potential.

"Salman Khan once took me aside and asked if I want to be a hero. I was 140 kilos then. I don't know how he found a hero in me. I started training with him. I was literally with him all time. And he cut me to 85 kilos," said Arjun.

To be directed by Bumpy, "Virus Diwan" is a tech-based caper where Arjun plays the title role of a computer hacker.

Before facing the camera, Arjun worked as an assistant director.

"I wanted to be in the film industry, so I decided to be an assistant director. I worked in 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and "Saalam-e-Ishq". I worked in two films of my father 'Wanted' and 'No Entry'," said Arjun.

The exclusive first looks of two new films were also showcased at the event.

"Luv ka The End", again directed by Bumpy that features Shraddha Kapoor and introduces Taaha Shah. It has a foot-thumping soundtrack by Ram Sampath and is slated for a May 6 release.

Another is a romantic-comedy against the backdrop of social networking and is interestingly titled "Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge". Directed by Nupur Asthana, it introduces four new faces - Saqib Saleem, Saba Azad, Nishant Dahiya and Tara D'souza. It also marks the Bollywood debut of desi folk-rocker Raghu Dixit as composer.

From Muscat to Mumbai to Bollywood, a beauty queen debuts

New Delhi, April 1 - She did her schooling in Muscat and her graduation in Mumbai. Now, as former Miss India World Sarah Jane Dias debuts opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Bollywood, she says her ultimate dream is to be a performer.

"When I was growing up, I wanted to sing, I wanted to dance.

Basically, I wanted to be on screen, - small, big screen, whatever. With my friendly terms with the camera, I realised my love for acting," Sarah, whose first film "Game" releases Friday, told IANS in an interview.

She admits to having initial inhibitions.

"I was shy. I was nervous. I had jitters, which may happen to anyone even after doing any number of films. But Abhishek's attitude towards me was such that it became easy. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity," said Sarah, who got a banner like Excel Entertainment to launch her.

Sarah did her schooling in Muscat and graduation from Mumbai's Mithibai College.

In a time of item numbers, Sarah is trying to be different with her song "Mehki Mehki" in "Game". She describes it as a burlesque number and says it will mark a new trend in the industry.

"It is my first film and my first ever solo song, so there was a lot of pressure. It's a burlesque song - not an item number and not something that has been done ever before on the Indian screen. It would be a new trendsetter because it is different," Sarah said.

She loves item numbers "Sheila Ki Jawani" and "Munni badnam hui" but was keen to try out something different.

"I love 'Sheila' and 'Munni'. It would have been easier for me to do something like that because I have seen it. But I have never seen any other star do something like 'Mehki Mehki'. I had no reference for the song. The attitude, the moves were very different and technical. It was very challenging because I am not a trained dancer," said Sarah, 28.

Before venturing into movies, the model-turned-actress, who won the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World in 2007, hosted "Get Gorgeous", a supermodel hunt show for Channel V.

"Game", an action thriller, has been shot in exotic locations of Istanbul, London and Bangkok and Sarah plays Abhishek Bachchan's love interest in it. Kangana Ranaut and Shahana Goswami will also be seen.

"I play Maya, who starts facing difficulties in life from a very young age. She always finds herself stuck in not-so-happy circumstances. She tries to escape that and lands up in a mess. Somewhere down the line she falls in love with Abhishek's character," she said.

She is overwhelmed by the warm response.

"I want to do lots of films. I am very happy that the industry has welcomed me so warmly and so quickly. So much of buzz is being created around me. I am really happy," said the newcomer who does not want to limit herself to Bollywood.

"I want to try everything. I want to be part of every genre and not limit myself. I think our industry is growing, it's expanding, people are finding new ways of expressing their emotions through new films and I want to be part of it."

Commenting on her future projects, she said: "I am in talks with two-three big directors. By the April end, I will start shooting for at least two films. But can't reveal about them at such a nascent stage."
